Friendship.

So today I had a rather interesting talk with a "friend" of mine who stated that " being a friend
is what I do best." Being the eternal optimist I sincerely hope that this is true, the realist in
me though will be watching for proof of it. I have come to the conclusion that I am done with fair
weather friends. Where I have been and what I have done in my life has shown me what real friendship is and what it is worth. Friends always have each others backs, they are also there when you need them. They are truly concerned with your well being, they are there for the good times and the bad. They are there to celebrate with you, they are there for you to lean on. They are there period. When things get dicey they don't run for the hills. Without qusetion, you can depend on them no matter what, and they know they can depend on you. Over the years I have been honored to have had and continue to have a handful of truly great friends who I love and cherish. If one of these people are you, then I have not told you enough how much I appreciate you. And no this isn't me being a chick and going all Hallmark on your ass. I figured that since I have been reevaluating my life and the people I have been associating myself with. I am only interested in people that can understand what true friendship really is and are able to be true friends, all the rest of the fair weather friends need to go find someone else to waste time with.There is saying something, and then there is being able to prove it. Hopefully this person I mentioned before is able to be there. I would really hate to not have her there in my life.
