Nosce Te Ipsum "Know Thyself"

Happy New Years Fuckers, Once again, I have awakened from my cathartic slumber to pose yet another issue to those of you who stand on the precipice of life questioning the meaning of it all.
The problem with this arises when one individual expects another individual, other than themselves
to be able to answer that question for them. Since everyone is different, the question of the
meaning of life becomes specific to every individual, and therefore cannot be properly answered
by another person. It pains me to see people outside of their center, trying to be something they aren't.
We as individuals, see examples of this every day. Some of us at one time or another can even say we
have been good examples of this ourselves. Constantly people try to do things to please others at
great sacrifice to themselves and their spirits. You see it in people trying to "Keep up with the Jonses", or better yet trying to create a label for themselves, or trying to remove one. It was once said that water finds its own level. So it is with every living being. Most of the more intelligent creatures
on this planet know this and rely on instinct and exist within their base nature and do not try to
change it. Not to say that change is not good, by all means one should always do their best to expand
themselves and evolve. What I mean to say is in very blunt terms is if your daily issues and actions
do not match up with the image that you are trying to portray, then you are not living the life you
truly could. You are sacrificing your happiness, your principles, and ultimately, your future.
An individuals thoughts, deeds and actions should always match the image of who you really are.
Others will always have their own opinions of you, sometimes those opinions will be off base,
in which case, who cares? The only people that truly matter other than yourself are those who have
gotten to know you and understand who you really are without making rash decisions and conclusions. I was originally going to title this "Reflecting The Light" but as we all know I, as well as everyone else have two distinct sides to our nature. Positive and negative, good and evil, light and dark. I can only reflect whatever side of myself is presently acting within my own nature. Usually I would have to say that would be a dark light. I have rarely seen recently, beings of any pure light within their spirits. I have once or twice had an opportunity within the past six months been in the presence of this type of purity which for a moment left me in a state of grace. And perhaps for these moments in my life, I have become a bit of a better person for it. I believe that if I as well as everyone
else begin to rely on their true natures and instincts, the world would become a bit of a better place.
Everyone has their own hopes and dreams for the future and the rest of their lives. If every being
did not get sidetracked from these, perhaps we as a collective would be able to reflect a bit more
light and a little less darkness. To get back to nosce te ipsum; the only person who can really answer
the meaning of life is you. The only way to answer this is to be true to yourself and be the person
you are meant to be, not who everyone else expects you to be. This is what I am striving for more in my life and it is my wish for everyone else in this life to do the same.
